CASE STUDY  Battery Testing

Streamlining the Development Process While Improving Quality

Pilot helped a battery manufacturer develop a uniform Design & Release process that worked across all product lines and applications saving time and manpower

PILOT EXCELLED IN ALL PROJECTS AND DELIVERED OUTSTANDING RESULTS

The Challenge:

Pilot was tasked with helping a battery manufacturer develop test plans and manage testing of batteries for a wide range of customers, including military, telecommunications, and industrial.

Result

We created a uniform Design & Release process that streamlined the development and testing process saving time and manpower. Robust methods for collecting customer requirements created better designs, and ultimately higher-quality battery systems for the customer.

REGARDING WORK ETHIC, WE FOUND PILOT SYSTEMS TO BE VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR NEED WITH IMMEDIATE SUPPORT. PILOT’S EXPERIENCE PROVED VALUABLE AS THEY WORKED TO SATISFY OUR ONGOING PROGRAM DEMANDS

In order to evaluate and accomplish this task in an efficient and thorough manner, Pilot installed a team of four engineers at the battery manufacturer’s site. By being fully integrated into the company environment, they were then able to perform a gap analysis of the existing process and develop methods of collecting customer requirements. This resulted in the implementation of several key customer programs and the development of a universal Battery Management System. Finally, Pilot engineers then trained lead engineers at customer’s sites in the new system.
