A major Tier 1 supplier was looking for a way to demonstrate their innovative technology to prospective customers.

The Challenge:

Pilot was tasked with creating a platform to showcase the proprietary mechatronics technology of our Tier 1 customer. 

Result

We designed and implemented a series of concept vehicles that were able to demonstrate both On-Road and Off-Road applications. 


Our client was looking for a supplier with a deep understanding of electronics software and experience in vehicle integration that could demonstrate their advanced technology to automotive customers. Pilot first started the project by clearly defining all customer requirements including timelines, budgets and resources. We then incorporated the proprietary technology into the demonstration vehicles. This included complete design, implementation and validation responsibility. The Pilot team was able to deliver above and beyond the clients original expectations. We also provided program management, vehicle systems engineering and fabrication, electrical design, harness design/build, controls and software engineering, test design, and validation. The team integrated the proprietary technology in multiple vehicle applications that also included an ECU module, instrumentation, custom brackets and enclosures, and a graphical user interface. Highlights included an aesthetic OEM quality graphical display, reusable software for future programs, excellent system function, expansion through bluetooth devices, full documentation including user guides and a comprehensive design verification plan. The programs were fast tracked to be completed in an average of 7 weeks. The final concept vehicles received high praise and recognition from top executive management including the CEO.
